Scissor Sisters cancel series of European shows due to 'funding issues'

Scissor Sisters have cancelled a number of upcoming European shows due to "funding issues".

In a statement on their official website - ScissorSisters.com, a spokesperson said it had "become impossible to make the tour work financially".

"We're saddened to discover that we are unable to play our scheduled tour dates through Europe," the group said. "We're genuinely sorry about this frustrating situation. We'll try to make it up to you and return to these beautiful cities soon."

Meanwhile, the band's previously confirmed dates in the UK will still take place, beginning in Brighton on December 2.

The cancelled dates are as follows:

Utrecht MCV (November 1)
Cologne Live Music Hall (2)
Paris Les Festival Inrocks (4)
Barcelona Razzmatazz (8)
Milan Alcatraz (10)
Rome Pala Atlantico (11)
Luxembourg Den Atelier (13)
Munich Theaterfabrik (14)
