'Hey Jude' is most popular Beatles song

'Hey Jude' has emerged as the UK's favourite song by The Beatles after the band's catalogue was added to iTunes this week.

The Fab Four's music was finally added to the digital music store following the resolution of a long-fought trademark dispute between Apple and the band's label Apple Corps.

And as the first week of sales draws to a close, the Paul McCartney-penned anthem is the biggest selling Beatles track, according to The Guardian.

The song is comfortably outselling its nearest rival, 'Let It Be'.

Earlier this week, bookies had been giving odds of 8-1 of this week’s top ten being made up entirely of Beatle songs. However according to midweek figures, while the band have 29 new entries in the top 200, it looks unlikely that any of them will crack the top 40.

Meanwhile, tonight's X Factor will see the contestants tackling Beatles songs.
