Kasabian's Tom Meighan has signed up to act in a new British sitcom about wrestling.

Walk Like A Panther will also star This Is England actor Stephen Graham, with TV chef Marco Pierre White set for a cameo appearance.

Meighan will play a wannabe wrestler in the '70s-set comedy, which has been independently funded and not signed up by a TV station yet, reports The Sun.

The newspaper reports an anonymous source as saying: "The cast has been assembled thanks to that nostalgia and the love of gritty northern humour."

Last year the singer's Kasabian bandmate Serge Pizzorno said he was writing music to accompany the show.

The pair first got together in 2009 to cover Amy Winehouse's 'You Know I'm No Good', and have now recorded a further ten tracks.

Released on January 24, 'The Party Ain't Over' was recorded at White's studio in Nashville. Her band included White, his wife Karen Elson, The Dead Weather and The Raconteurs' Jack Lawrence, My Morning Jacket's Carl Broemel, The Raconteurs' Patrick Keeler, Ashley Monroe and Jackson Smith.
